ENERGY STORAGE

Anyone who deals with the topic of photovoltaics inevitably is confronted with the question: What do I do with excess energy? Because while there is usually a lot of energy available during the day, many owners of a PV system are not at home at this time, or the not the entire energy is required for commercial use. Storage solutions are therefore needed to save energy for later use and thus make PV systems efficient and economical.

There are various energy storage devices are available. Smaller storage devices based on lithium-ion and nickel-metal hydride are suitable as low-voltage storage devices for private households. Depending on the power requirement, storage devices between 4 and 20 kWh are sufficient and common. Larger high-voltage power storage systems work with voltages of up to 500 volts and are primarily intended for commercial and industrial use.
